About
Avrille provides a space of confidentiality and safety to those who have experienced adverse events in their life such as abuse, family violence, and racism. She understands how these can impact our relationships, confidence, and the effect it can have on our physical body with symptoms such as headaches, anger, depression, anxiety and stress. Avrille also works with many parents who are navigating parenthood and trying make positive changes for their children. As a migrant and woman of colour, Avrille understands the impact of power, privilege and oppression and provides a space to unpack the complexities that come with this.
As a Mental Health Counsellor and Arts therapist Avrille combines talk and creative therapy for more innovative problem solving, deeper insight and a stronger sense of wellness. Avrille uses a mix of approaches including trauma informed, attachment, and Gestalt style approaches and sees the body and mind as already having the information to create change.
Counselling can be a little daunting at first, and the trickiest part is reaching out and finding the right fit. Although sometimes challenging, there is lots to gain when you spend time investing in yourself, your health, and realigning yourself with what’s important to you. Send me an email, let's chat and see if we click.
