Hi, I'm Asher. I'm a psychologist with experience working in private sector, community health and hospitals. I am deeply committed to the idea that we can overcome negative patterns when our basic human needs are met: safety, connection and a sense that we're worthy.
I've been described as warm, thoughtful and a good listener. When starting, we will gain a shared understanding of what's brought you to therapy and agree on a direction. We will update goals as we go, to support you towards a balanced, fulfilled life of your choosing.
My main way of working is through Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), premised on evidence-based emotion, somatic & attachment theories. I also draw on other approaches (CBT, FOT and ACT) depending on my client’s needs.
Above all, I know that healing happens in the right relationship, with the right ingredients, and mutual respect.
I see clients on Mondays or Thursdays, 8.30am-6.30pm (last appt. at 5.30pm).
Telehealth and in-person at my office in Elsternwick.
