As a clinical social worker my clients are eligible to a Medicare rebate with a MHC plan. I bring 40 years experience in counselling, psychology and somatic psychotherapy. I have experience with most issues and life challenges. My extensive training & experience enables me to resonate with my clients, offering different approaches according to the need. I work with CBT and other verbal approaches while including strategies to address the issues, or more deeply, to address emotionally based struggles or childhood issues playing out in adult life.
I am currently supervising a Masters in counseling student, offering low cost sessions.
I am somatically (body) trained which brings an added depth to dealing with anxiety, depression, grief, addictive behaviours and life patterns. I am also trauma trained and work with childhood and adult trauma. I'm trained in Imago Relationship Therapy for a deep and effective approach to relationship issues. I also offer parenting guidance and play therapy.
Life circumstances can be very challenging and I believe every challenge is an invitation to grow. It can be useful to seek assistance when we are challenged so that we can grow out of our usual patterns of behaviour and develop more productive and rewarding ways of handling life and being in the world. To me, therapy is a process of personal growth.
