Many of us feel anxious about the future and regret aspects of our past. We can also spend a lot of energy trying to control things that are not actually within our control. At the same time we can feel that things that we have no power over states of mind such as panic attacks or phobias. We can feel anxious about feeling anxious! We want to live the best life we can but we're just not sure how to do that. Chronic anxiety, shame and anger are barriers to finding solutions for the best way forward, for being the best versions of ourselves. We want someone to hear our stories and know us for the person we really are.
My role is to help you find your own solutions and to feel confident that you can do that. Finding ways that help you to self-soothe is fundamental to relieving your anxiety, anger and fears so that you can make the best decisions for yourself and your future. I can help you change the maladaptive patterns of behaviour you find yourself repeating.
I have worked as a police detective for many years in a role completely separate to my psychology practice. I am also an FBI affiliated criminal profiler and I understand police and court systems and the impact on those who are victims of crime and their families. I can help you understand what motivates people to behave the way they do.
