About
Andrew Meyer is a Registered Psychologist who is a member of the Australian Psychological Society. Andrew has experience in working with adolescents and adults in the areas of depression, anxiety, and stress related issues, addictions (substances, gambling and alcohol), grief and loss, self-esteem, confidence building, sexuality and relationship difficulties. His approach to therapy is to create curiosity, openness and motivation with his clients. Andrew believes these components are highly effective in reaching treatment goals and helping people to return to their desired self.
He has been trained in several evidence based therapeutic techniques including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing and Narrative Therapy.
Andrew obtained his Psychology qualification through Curtin University of Technology. He has experience working in private practice and a background as a Registered Psychologist with corrective services running offender focussed rehabilitation programs.
