Hi! I'm Alex, though I often go by Ally as well - I'm happy for you to use whichever you feel most comfortable with.
I work mostly with adults, but also help out a lot of teens. I have a particular interest in supporting neurodivergent clients - I'm most knowledgeable about Autism and ADHD, but there are lots of different neurodivergent identities out there that I work with, such as people with intellectual differences or OCD. I also work with people navigating all different types of relationships - whether that be with partners, parents, friends, colleagues, systems, or yourself! I also have training in a range of assessments.
I love helping people who are new to therapy learn about what it involves and get comfortable in a therapy setting, so you can feel more confident to open up and work towards a happier, healthier, and more fulfilled life. I also enjoy working with people who have been to therapy before, especially if you think you want to try a new approach.
My goal is for us to work together to figure out what you need, so that we can help you to develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence you need to eventually 'be your own therapist'. It's important that you feel a sense of autonomy and safety, so I also aim to help you find a better fit if your needs and my areas of expertise don't match up.
