High-performing individuals and couples often look fine on the surface but aren’t. The work begins with a focused assessment and clear recommendations. Then if appropriate, we work with customised full-day couples intensives. Designed for those ready for deep change.

I work with adults experiencing anxiety, trauma, men's mental health concerns, relationship difficulties, workplace stress, and adjustment following injury or major life changes. Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, emotionally exhausted, or frustrated that things are not improving despite trying to push through on their own. I help clients move forward through practical, evidence-based approaches tailored to the individual, with a focus on building resilience, strengthening relationships, and creating meaningful and lasting change.

What we label as harsh self-criticism, addiction, perfectionism, depression, mood disorders, or anxiety can be understood in a different light. These aren't signs of weakness or flaws. Rather: protective patterns. They reflect the mind’s effort to cope, to endure, and to keep going under strain. Trauma is not always a single, defining event. More often, it is shaped slowly through repeated experiences of overwhelm and a lack of control. It can grow in environments where love felt uncertain, criticism was frequent, expectations were high, or where caregivers were struggling themselves. I help people who carry similar patterns.

You may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to move forward. Perhaps anxiety, low mood, grief, trauma, or a life transition has disrupted your sense of direction or meaning. You might be seeking relief from emotional distress, clarity in decisions, or a way to live more fully in line with your values. Some clients also want space to explore faith, purpose, or spirituality in a respectful, grounded way.

We can all be challenged from time to time regulating our emotional state. It can be a struggle to articulate whats going on for us and thats where it help's to talk and explore whats going on. Sometimes however, it is difficult to open up to family and friends, particularly when you are experiencing anxiety, depression, personal or work related stress or family/relationship concerns. As a Clinical and International Psychotherapist, I offer relief by providing emotional support, psycho-education and the ability to truly hear and challenge what is going on for you via flexible appointments, both in Person, Telehealth or Telephone.

Many of the men I work with are carrying heavy burdens — grief and loss, trauma, PTSD, addiction, anxiety, depression, or a deep sense of losing purpose. They may feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected, unsure of how to move forward. What they truly want is relief from these struggles, clarity in their direction, and a stronger sense of self so they can live with more balance, confidence, and meaning.

I work with sensitive, intuitive adults, teens, and young adults in Noosa Heads who often experience life more intensely than those around them, seeking support for anxiety, emotional overwhelm, and life transitions. You may feel exhausted from trying to hold it all together. Sensitivity is not something to fix or overcome, it’s a way of relating to the world and can be a strength. My approach is compassionate, trauma-informed, and nervous-system focused. I bring a background in yoga and wellness. I also work in family law, which gives me experience with relationship breakdowns, conflict, and emotionally complex family dynamics.

You've spent years being told you were too much, or not enough. Too scattered, too emotional, too forgetful- or holding everything together on the outside while quietly drowning inside. ADHD in women looks nothing like the textbook version. It hides behind perfectionism and people-pleasing. It shows up as overwhelm, emotional dysregulation, and a bone-deep exhaustion no amount of sleep fixes. And for too long, it's been missed- in classrooms, GP offices, and therapy rooms.

In over 30 years practice experience & ongoing professional development; I have had the privilege of working with children, young people and adults whose engagement, potential and enjoyment in education, employment, social recreational & family contexts has been compromised through challenging acute (short) or chronic (long term) experiences – affecting their mental health and overall wellbeing. Through an integrative therapeutic model we have many positive, wonderful, inspiring and occasionally surprising outcomes; with felt and observable progress - often from our very first session.

I am very privileged to work with clients who are interested in their self growth and development. Most of the time when people come to see a psychologist they are wanting to have some change in their life and they need the space to talk through their issues. I love providing a safe, confidential place for people to explore the difficulties and life experiences that have been challenging for them.

FACT IS: "It's not a matter of IF life will throw obstacles and hurdles at you... it's WHEN." For 20 years I have been counselling people from all walks of life (CEOs, surgeons and psychologists through to miners, call centre staff, managers and cleaners). And what I've noticed is how many people struggle with their relationships - that could be the relationship with their partner, their child, their parents, their co-workers, their mates or the biggest and most important relationship of them all... THEMSELVES! Now, they don't always know it's their relationship at first, because it might look like stress, conflict, anxiety, etc.

If you're looking for a run of the mill counsellor or mental health professional to assist with your mental health queries, feel free to contact one of my very capable colleagues. I look at life through a different lens, with a transpersonal -even spiritual- mindfulness-based filter. Expect to see life from a broader perspective, while still being very practical. Expect to work from the inside out: YOU will change, and then your circumstances will. Understanding how you (and your brain) operate will help you manage your emotions and behaviour more effectively. This, in turn, will make you less sensitive to (negative) emotion-shifts.

Learn more about how to find a therapist

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

Counsellors and Psychotherapists listed in the directory are members of the main professional associations, mainly the Australian Counselling Association and the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia. Psychologists must be registered in the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Most Social Workers listed in the directory are members of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).

Providers whose professional membership or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Given that professional memberships are not a statutory requirement for social workers, psychotherapists and counsellors in Australia, certain qualified professionals or organisations may choose not to maintain such memberships despite possessing the necessary qualifications. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counsellor?

Counsellors, psychotherapists and psychologists can all provide counselling or talking therapy and have credentials and experience that enable them to do so in Australia.

Psychologists have earned a 4 year undergraduate degree in psychology and have completed a postgraduate internship or postgraduate degree. Psychotherapists generally have an undergraduate degree in a health related field in addition to 3-4 years of specialist training in psychotherapy and a period of personal psychotherapy. In order to belong to a professional organisation such as the ACA or PACFA, counsellors and psychotherapists are required to have completed a certain level of AQF qualifications and/ or an approved training course as well as clinical and supervision hours. Social Workers registered with the AASW are required to have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, the cost of a therapy session in Australia could be between $100 and $250. If you have private insurance, your plan may cover some if not all of your sessions. You should contact your insurance provider to determine if they provide coverage for therapy sessions and to determine what, if any, requirements they might have in order for your sessions to be covered, such as a referral from your GP or medical specialist.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

If you are struggling to access therapy due to budget constraints, you could also consider public funded mental health services. The Better Access Scheme is a government program offering Medicare rebates for mental health care. To access the program you will need to be assessed and diagnosed by your GP and get a Mental Health Plan. This will allow you to receive up to 10 individual sessions and 10 group sessions a year with practitioners who accept bulk billing, with no out of pocket costs for you.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your postcode.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Therapists who are part of a professional organisation such as the ACA, PACFA, or the APS are bound by an ethical framework that requires them to uphold a confidentiality agreement. Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship and only under specific circumstances, such as when there is the potential or known harm to the client or others or when a minor is in danger, will a therapist be obligated to break the agreement. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed during the initial consultation.
