Stacy Pershall, M.F.A., is the author of Loud in the House of Myself: Memoir of a Strange Girl (2011; Norton) and a member of the Active Minds speakers' bureau. Born and raised in the predominantly Baptist town of Prairie Grove, Arkansas, Pershall battled with borderline personality disorder and eating disorders before recovering through Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, mood-stabilizing medication, and body modification. She teaches writing to adults and teenagers at Gotham Writers' Workshop and the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth and is available for media interviews through the Women's Media Center SheSource.
