Thomas Vander Ven, Ph.D., is an associate professor in the department of sociology and anthropology at Ohio University. His areas of interest include crime and delinquency; sociology of alcohol; work, family, and crime; criminological theory; sociology of social problems. He is the author of Getting Wasted: Why College Students Drink Too Much and Party So Hard; and Working Mothers and Juvenile Delinquency.
