Tarot cards, runes, pendulums and palm reading are all vehicles for revealing intention. When those objects are concretized as vehicles of reality, rather than being recognized as subjective measures of psycho-spiritual states of consciousness, that's when we get into trouble.
As a spiritualist, I have witnessed some pretty amazing demonstrations of the consistency with regard to these intentional vehicles, but -- as a scientist -- taking into account that human nature itself is consistent (which is why we all have jobs) it bears out that people see what they want to see because they expect to see it.
Lipstick imprints, Tarot cards or Rorschach tests -- always right, always wrong, always subject to interpretation, expectation and, of course, perception.
I have to agree, Pepper -- lipsology is a reach even for a granola-head like myself. Plus, the umber just doesn't work with my skin-tone!
Blessing,
Michael
Interesting Blog Subject!
It reminds me of an old Roman adage: "The Vulgar love to be deceived, let them be deceived!"
lipsology
Oh my. Now that is pushing the limits. I have heard of psychics readling crumpled paper, mirrors, and even cow's entrails, but lips? It this what has become of good old fashion foreplay? Any good charlatan can perform a cold reading (looking for peoples responses and body language for clues about them). I am personally a fan of tarot reading, but I use it as a method for creativity and self-examination.
