Leon, thank you for your series on spontaneity in general and your post here on the link between spontaneity and creativity in particular. This post resonates with some of my own research, and I think you are very much on the right track here. Our society really ought to foster spontaneity and play more in grade school and society at large. I fear our schools are producing students who are scared of deviating from the tried and true in all situations. And these individuals run the risk of growing up to be quite static in their endeavors. And, like you, I believe this state of affairs has only squandered creative potential. Thank you for bringing these important issues to the forefront.
