Enjoyed his little synopsis of the book in the interview. -D
he's back!
I was so happy to come upon this posting by Dr. Kramer, I immediately ordered the book. I have greatly missed his regular postings, but am rather thrilled to discover he will still occasionally have something to say. Delighted to have you back, Peter, even if only occasionally!

To date, the only book I've found in a long attempt to understand pain pill addiction is Drew Pinsky's When Painkillers Become Dangerous. Though well-meaning, the book fails in drawing even a decent sketch of this particular kind of horror. To have lived with someone who lived for pills convinces me that there is little connection between the rather mild effects a little pill overuse is thought to have, by the few people giving the matter any thought, and the spectacularly wretched effects it truly does have. Thank you for the recommendation.
