Pamela Rutledge, Ph.D., M.B.A. is the Director of the Media Psychology Research Center. She teaches media psychology and social media at Fielding Graduate University, UCLA Extension and UC Irvine Extension. Rutledge is also the editor of the Media Psychology Review, an online journal dedicated to bridging the research-practice gap to expand the frontiers of Media Psychology across traditional and emerging technologies.
Rutledge works with her husband John Rutledge, Ph.D., at Rutledge Capital, a private equity and investment advisory firm, where she manages and develops financial, economic and investment media.

Rutledge worked for several years with eating disorders, mood disorders, and family dynamics as a therapist.

Rutledge's current research interest is the user-experience and meaning of social media as it impacts perceptions of identity for individuals, companies and nations. Recent research involved the impact of media on measures of cooperation and conflict between the U.S. and China using the Olympics as a focal point. When not working to promote a better understanding of social technologies, she focuses on a Positive Psychology framework to assess and develop media that promotes personal strengths and positive identity and brand development. Rutledge can be found on Facebook and LinkedIn, on Second Life (avatar Media Writer) or by email (prutledge@mprcenter.org) or Twitter (pamelarutledge).

Her PT blog is Positively Media.
