C. Nathan DeWall is a professor of social psychology at the University of Kentucky. He earned his bachelors' degree from St. Olaf College (2002), a master's degree in social science from the University of Chicago (2003), and master's and doctoral degrees in social psychology from Florida State University (2005 and 2007, respectively). His research focuses on the fundamental need for positive and lasting relationships and how this need influences emotion, self-control, aggression, prosocial behavior, physical pain, and attentional biases.
