Dear Dr. DePaulo,
In the spirit of giving thanks I wanted to thank you for all you have done to advocate for singles. I have your book and it is a wonderful contribution to understanding community where stereotypes often overshadow the realities of our lives. I am sure sometimes it can be a thankless job to empower singles, especially when married superiority sometimes comes from singles themselves.
After I purchased your book I sent an email recommending it to all my single friends. Some emailed me back hurt or a bit hostile. They did want to be singles. They wanted to be "not yet married." Well thanks again for advocating for the 92 million unmarried Americans. We may not all appreciate the work you have done, but many like me are indeed thankful.
much appreciated!
Hi Natalie,
What a wonderful note! I so appreciate your kind words. And how very kind of you to recommend Singled Out to your friends. Sorry not all of them responded positively, but I greatly appreciate the effort. Maybe some of them will come around eventually.
Happy Thanksgiving to you. You just made mine happy!
Bella
