Where and when was Jimmy Carter awarded a PhD in nuclear physics? Here is the Jimmy Carter Library's page on his educational background:

He did some graduate work, but that's a long way from a PhD. I can't even find a reference to him having an MS or a certificate. The man was President of the United States and is a Nobel laureate, don't you feel it's kind of silly to inflate his curriculum vitae?

Turns out I was misinformed about Carter's Ph.D. (or lack thereof). I'd heard years ago that he was a "nuclear physicist," but that seems to be not quite right.
As a former president and Nobel laureate, Carter's accomplishments are easily accessible to everyone. Don't you feel it's kind of silly to assume I intended to inflate his CV?
