Dana Becker, Ph.D., is Professor of Social Work and the Bryn Mawr Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research and author of several books and numerous scholarly articles. She has been a psychotherapist for over 30 years. She received her A.B. with honors from Bryn Mawr College, her M.S.S. in social work and her Ph.D. in psychology from Bryn Mawr College. Her latest book is One Nation Under Stress: The Trouble with Stress as an Idea. Her other books are The Myth of Empowerment: Women and the Therapeutic Culture in America, and Through the Looking Glass: Women and Borderline Personality Disorder. Her work has received awards from the Society for the Psychology of Women, a division of the American Psychological Association.
