Will Lassek, M.D.

Will Lassek received his B.A. and M.D. degrees from Boston University and is currently Assistant Professor of Epidemi­ology at the Graduate School of Public Health at the University of Pittsburgh and Research Associate in the Department of Anthropology at the Univer­sity of California at Santa Barbara.

He served in the United States Public Health Service for twenty-five years where he was an Assistant Surgeon General and received the Outstanding Ser­vice Medal. In collaboration with Dr. Steven Gaulin, he is the author of a number of papers relating to the evolutionary relationships between human biology and psychology and is the senior author of the book Why Women Need Fat available in January, 2012. He lives in Pittsburgh with his family.
