Sian Beilock, Ph.D.
Sian Beilock, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Psychology at The University of Chicago and an expert on the brain science behind “choking under pressure” and the many factors influencing all types of performance: from test-taking to public speaking to your golf swing. Her research is supported by the National Science Foundation and the U.S. Department of Education and her work is routinely covered in the media (e.g., CNN, New York Times, NPR, Wall Street Journal). Dr. Beilock was highlighted as one of four “Rising Stars” across all academic disciplines by the Chronicle of Higher Education in 2005 and was chosen as one of twenty-five “Women to Watch” by Crain's Chicago Business magazine in 2007. When Sian is not exploring why other people choke under pressure, she tries to keep herself at the top of her game on the soccer field, tennis court, and with daily runs. Her first book CHOKE, can be found here: sianbeilock.com
