Shawn A. Tassone, M.D.
Shawn A. Tassone, M.D., is a board certified obstetrician gynecologist practicing medicine in Tucson, AZ. He is a two-year fellow of integrative medicine at the University of Arizona where he trained with Andrew Weil, M.D. He is currently finishing a Ph.D. in mind-body medicine at Saybrook University working with pioneers James Gordon, M.D., Stanley Krippner, Ph.D., and Jeanne Achterberg, Ph.D. His Ph.D. and life work is on the aspects of non-local healing and patient-centered care; he is also writing the authorized biography of non-local healing pioneer and author Larry Dossey, M.D. Dr. Tassone has written two books, Hands Off My Belly! The Pregnant Woman's Survival Guide to Myths, Mothers, and Mood (Prometheus Books, 2009) and the upcoming Spiritual Pregnancy: Nine Months of Spiritual Transformation Before You Give Birth (Llewellyn Worldwide, 2012). His belief is that the current medical system is broken, but fixable and that the tenet of physical, emotional, and spiritual health is to create a powerful connection between the patient and health care provider and ninety minute visits are a good place to start.
