Shawn T. Smith, Psy.D

Shawn Smith specializes in the treatment of anxiety, depression, and other problems in living. He earned his doctorate in clinical psychology at the University of Denver where he focused on cognitive behavioral interventions, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Shawn is the author of "Surviving Aggressive People," and "The User's Guide to the Human Mind: Why Our Brains Make Us Unhappy, Anxious, and Neurotic, and What We Can Do about It," due out December, 2011.

He also writes a psychology blog at www.ironshrink.com. There, he wrestles with questions of monumental importance, such as: Will chewing gum make me smarter? Is my ex-wife possessed? How can I tell if my therapist is crazy? Shawn lives in Denver with is wife and daughter, and their dog, Hachi.
