A graduate of Indiana University with a B.S. in Applied Health Science and an M.S. in Education/Counseling Psychology, Rachel A. Weinstein worked in Pennsylvania as a therapist in private practice and in outpatient mental health from 1991-1996. Moving to Santa Cruz, CA, in 1996 after a personal loss, she devoted her work to the specialty of loss and life transition, receiving additional training in grief and loss recovery from The Centre for Living with Dying in Santa Clara. Rachel was the Centre's Coordinator of Client Care, educating volunteers in the support of grief and loss as well as supporting her own clients. She provides education, support, and consultation to individuals, couples, and to families coping with the many difficult aspects of living with loss, change, and life transition. She has appeared on MSNBC as a grief expert, has been featured in USA Today and the Chicago Tribune, and has been interviewed on radio and television programs nationwide. Her private practice is in the San Jose, CA, area. She is single and knows that the support from family, friends, professionals, and the love from her little dog has been critical during her during many challenging life experiences. Music and laughter are a regular part of her life.
