Michelle Gielan is an expert in the science of happiness and human potential. She is co-founder of the Institute for Applied Positive Research, where she researches the connection between a positive brain and success in business, health and relationships.  She is the author of the Create a Happier Life eCourse, a five-step online course on training the brain for greater happiness and well-being. (launch date: March 2012)

As Partner at Good Think Inc, a positive psychology consulting firm, Michelle works with Fortune 500 companies on ways to raise employee engagement and drive success.  Clients include Bank of America, Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Boston Children's Hospital, KPMG, and Crain's Chicago Business.  She holds a Master of Applied Positive Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania.

Michelle formerly served as the anchor of two national newscasts at CBS News, "The CBS Morning News" and "Up to the Minute", as well a correspondent for "The Early Show."  In 2009, Michelle produced "Happy Week", a week-long series of interviews focusing on fostering happiness in life, relationships, the workplace and at home, especially during the recession.  In 2011, she appeared in her own weekly health and wellness segment, “Manic Monday” on FOX News Chicago.

Her PT blog is Lights, Camera... Happiness! and focuses on how media influences who we are and how we see the world, and how to use it to live a fuller, happier life.
