Michael R. Cunningham, Ph.D.

Michael Cunningham is a Social/Personality/Industrial Psychologist in the Department of Communication of the University of Louisville. He heads the Social Communications Laboratory, where he and his students investigate social and evolutionary processes in romantic attraction and repulsion, such as mate-choice copying and social allergies. He also holds a joint appointment in the Kent School of Social Work of UofL, where he explores interactive coping and the determinants of effective performance as a marriage and family worker. Finally, he is a long-standing consultant to private and public organizations on the testing, selection, training, and promotion of employees ranging from front-line retail workers to executives.
