Mark Batey, Ph.D.

Mark Batey, Chair of The Psychometrics at Work Research Group at Manchester Business School, is a researcher of the psychology of creativity. In 2010 he appeared with Lord Robert Winston on BBC’s Child of Our Time and is a regular contributor to print media, including The Financial Times, The Times, The Telegraph, The Sunday Telegraph, The Independent, The Moscow Times, and BBC online.

Batey is an editor for the International Journal of Creativity and Problem Solving and sits on the Editorial Board for the American Journal of Psychology of Aesthetics, Creativity and Arts (PACA). He is also a reviewer for international journals such as Personality and Individual Differences, British Journal of Psychology, Creativity Research Journal and the Journal of Creative Behaviour. He also finds time to run the Psychology of Creativity discussion group on Linkedin, write a regular blog and lead training workshops, seminars and conferences on creativity.

Batey has advised businesses including Anheuser Busch InBev, BBC, Greater Manchester Police, Group 4 Securicor, Johnson & Johnson, M-Real, Merck, Sharp & Dohme, Novar, PZ Cussons, Reading Football Club, Rolls-Royce, Sony Music Entertainment and SyCo Television.

He is also R&D Director for an innovative new psychometrics company (www.e-metrixx.com) that develops psychological tools for business.  E-metrixx published the me2 range of creativity assessment and development tools.
