Margaret Moore is the founder and CEO of Wellcoaches Corporation and the co-director of the McLean/Harvard Medical School Institute of Coaching. She is also the co-course director of the annual Harvard Medical School coaching conference, in collaboration with Carol Kauffman, PhD. In addition, her collaboration with Eddie Phillips, MD, led to his launching the Harvard Institute of Lifestyle Medicine, which integrates coaching into primary care. Moore is a founding advisor of the Institute of Lifestyle Medicine.
Moore is an entrepreneur and 17-year veteran of the biotech industry in the UK, Canada, France, and the US. In 2000, she shifted focus from the high tech side of medicine to prevention and well-being. She founded Wellcoaches Corporation (strategic partner of the American College of Sports Medicine) to establish professional coaches in health and wellness as the best possible intervention to help people master well-being.
Moore is also a board member of the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra. She was born on a dairy farm northeast of Toronto where she went to a two-room school and learned to drive a tractor. Moore graduated from University of Western Ontario with a BSc Biology in 1978 and an MBA in 1983.
