Marc Schoen, Ph.D.
Marc Schoen, Ph.D. is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at UCLA Geffen School of Medicine where he teaches courses to medical students on Performance and Decision Making Under Pressure, as well as Hypnosis and Medicine. He is the author of Your Survival Instinct is Killing You (Hudson Street Press, March 2013).
He has extensively studied the area of performance under pressure, particularly as it relates to physical and mental decision making. He has a particular interest in the area of retraining the brain for the purpose of altering its influence on behavior and health.
His work has been featured extensively on television, radio, and in magazines and newspapers, in such publications as the Los Angeles Times, Wall Street Journal, Investors’ Business Daily, Oprah, WebMD, Fortune Magazine, Health, Natural Health, Prevention, Yoga Journal, and many others.
He is also the author of "When Relaxation Is Hazardous to Your Health." This book addresses the Let Down Effect, the condition that deals with Post-Stress Illness or why we become sick after stress.
