Keith Harary, Ph.D.
Keith Harary, Ph.D., is a graduate of Duke University and the Union Institute, where he earned his doctoral degree in psychology with emphases in both clinical counseling and experimental research. His work includes extensive studies of extraordinary beliefs, extreme behavior and experiences that alter our sense of reality, from suicidal states to transcendent experiences, as well as studies of personality, perception and social interaction. He is the designer of the Reflective model of personality assessment and co-created the first Reflective personality profile, The Berkeley Personality Profile, in cooperation with colleagues at the University of California at Berkeley. His clinical work includes comprehensive training and experience in crisis and suicide intervention and extreme group dynamics. Harary has published more than 100 professional and popular articles and ten books, and has given lectures sponsored by universities and other international cultural and scientific organizations. As Executive Director of the Institute for Advanced Psychology in Portland, Oregon, he currently directs a developing international program in character education and social skills for elementary school children.
