Kathleen Taylor

Kathleen Taylor did her first degree in philosophy and physiology, and discovered that brains are amazing. Thereafter she worked up from cells to systems, acquiring a research M.Sc. in neuropharmacology and a neuroscience D.Phil. before exploring neuroimmunology and cognitive neuroscience as a postdoc. Along the way she became fascinated by social behaviour, particularly the ways in which people manipulate and motivate themselves and others. Alas, these eclectic interests didn't fit well with the specialisation demanded by an academic science career, so she decided to try her hand at science writing. Three books later ...

The Brain Supremacy

Welcome to my blog discussing new developments in neuroscience, and much else besides.

The brain supremacy is a great change in science, currently underway and accelerating, which will alter not only science but society. As the sciences of the mind and brain mature, they will unleash extraordinary capacities for self-improvement, healing, and -- potentially -- harm. To understand what may be possible, it helps to know where we're at in neuroscience. This blog highlights relevant new research, and also looks at wider issues in science and elsewhere.
