Kathleen Taylor

Kathleen Taylor did her first degree in philosophy and physiology, and discovered that brains are wonderful. Thereafter she started with cells and worked up to systems, acquiring a research M.Sc. in neuropharmacology and a neuroscience D.Phil. before exploring neuroimmunology and cognitive neuroscience as a postdoc. Along the way she became increasingly fascinated by social behaviour, particularly the ways in which people manipulate and motivate themselves and others. Alas, such eclectic interests didn't fit well with the academic model of a science career. So, as she loves explaining ideas about brains, she decided to try her hand at science writing.
