Jeanne Munn Bracken

Jeanne Munn Bracken is a librarian and writer. Author of Children with Cancer: A Reference Guide for Parents (Oxford University Press), she has also edited several curriculum-enrichment titles on American history topics for Discovery Enterprises. A columnist for a weekly newspaper chain in MetroWest Massachusetts, she has compiled a collection of her essays in Someday We'll Laugh About This (Molisa Press). That book title sums up her life philosophy: some people cry, some people laugh. Her immediate family have been long-time consumers of psychotherapy services (and her extended family should have been).  She was named a New York Times Librarian of the Year in 2005 and has won numerous awards for her columns. In her day job she has been a reference librarian for over 40 years, but she looks forward to a late summer retirement so she can write for children. She is also a Mystery Fiction Maven and a member of Sisters in Crime.
