Her book, Fat Like Us, based on her research at the University of North Carolina, chronicles the personal narratives of participants in Durham, North Carolina's Rice Diet program. Her work has earned national attention, including a twice-broadcast feature story on CBS's 60 Minutes. Her book is being widely touted as "the fat community's Canterbury Tales."
