James Bach

James refused to do homework from the age 11, left home at 14 to live alone, then left high school as soon as it was legal. Yet he was working for Apple Computer as an engineer at age 20. He went on to become a renowned innovator in the field of computer software testing. He did this because, with the encouragement of his father, author Richard Bach, he discovered a low-pressure, whimsical, yet relentless approach to self-education that suited his wandering mind. James is the author of two books, Lessons Learned in Software Testing (2001), and Secrets of a Buccaneer-Scholar: How Self-Education and the Pursuit of Passion Can Lead to a Lifetime of Success (2009).
