Ingrid Fetell
Ingrid Fetell's work explores the emotional relationships between people and things. As a practicing designer, brand consultant, and market researcher, she offers a unique perspective on why the objects in our lives make us feel the way they do: why a pair of stilettos triggers a rush of desire, a minivan feels safe, and a hula hoop creates the irresistible urge to play. Currently she is working on a book called Aesthetics of Joy which draws on new insights from neuroscience and psychology to suggest ways that design can enhance our emotional health and well-being. Her personal blog aestheticsofjoy.com looks at the unconscious effects of architecture, products, fashion, and art and suggests ways that better design might lead the way to happier, healthier, more sustainable lives.
