Dr. Arnon Krongrad

Arnon Krongrad, M.D., is a prostate surgeon. In 1999, he introduced laparoscopic surgical techniques for prostate cancer treatment. In 2007, Dr. Krongrad performed an operation that ended a patient's misery from treatment-resistant prostatitis and today defines a new direction in treatment for chronic prostatitis. Dr. Krongrad is author of numerous research publications. He is certified by the American Board of Urology and belongs to a number of professional societies. Dr. Krongrad is co-founder and Medical Director of the not-for-profit Prostate Cancer International.


Dr. Krongrad received his B.A. from Columbia College and his M.D. from the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Columbia University. He trained in surgery at the John A. Burns School of Medicine at the University of Hawaii and in urology at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York.


As a post-doc fellow, Dr. Krongrad did research at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, where he learned that the wallaby ovulates reflexively with the lunar cycle, which made him very happy.
