David Johnson, Ph.D.
David V. Johnson, Ph.D., is a writer and magazine editor in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Before entering journalism, he was a professor of philosophy, specializing in ancient Greek ethics and moral psychology. After completing an M.Phil. in classics at Cambridge University in 1996, he obtained his Ph.D. in philosophy from Stanford University in 2002. He was an assistant professor of philosophy at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) and also taught at the University of Michigan and Stanford. He is currently working on an immersion-journalism book about the junior tennis circuit.
