Zen and Psychotherapy

Partners in Liberation

Welcome!

Welcome to an exciting new blog on Buddhism and Psychotherapy.

Hello PT bloggers! I'm Joseph Bobrow, a Zen master, psychologist-psychoanalyst, and founder of Deep Streams Institute and the Coming Home Project. I want to welcome you to our new blog, where we will be exploring the interplay of Buddhism and psychotherapy in transforming human suffering and helping us cultivate genuine well being.

I encourage you to have a look at my new book (same name as the blog, Zen and Psychotherapy -- Partners in Liberation , published by Norton. It should be in bookstores by mid-March but friends have "pre-ordered" it on Amazon and have had it shipped to them.

I welcome to the table Buddhist and other meditation practitioners, psychotherapists with interest and experience in mindfulness and spirituality, and all those who are inquiring into the nature of suffering and the factors of its transformation, be it via contemplative or psychotherapeutic paths or some combination.

My personal and professional experience shows me that these streams have much to offer one another theoretically and practically, personally and professionally. Not only are new models of suffering and its transformation and of well being emerging, but individual practitioners are experiencing the benefit of the synergy of these two practices.

Stay tuned for my first substantive post later this week. In the meanwhile, feel free to introduce yourselves and share your own interests as we create a safe, respectful, and vibrant conversation about liberating our full human potential.

Joseph
