Erection Drug Makers Receive Stiff Fine for Price Fixing

Price fixing results in stiff fine.

According to the the Swiss Competition Commission, famed boner-drug makers Lilly, Pfizer and Bayer had more than just "The Viagra Talk" with the companies that distribute their medications. As a result, they were fined a total of $5.7 million for fixing the prices of Cialis, Viagra and Levitra.

It seems that according to Swiss law, there was illegal vertical collusion between the drugmakers and distributors. Given what the drugs are used for, one might think there would have been horizonatal collusion following the vertical collusion, but the Swiss Competition Commision could not be reached for further comment.
