This is a great article. Oddly enough, I was thinking about this concept just last week while I was at work. During the busiest time of day, I realized my manager was no where to be found (as usual). However, it was somewhat of a relief because everything flowered perfectly well. Everyone knew their tasks and collaborated effortlessly. The minute the manager returned, everything was back to confusion and disarray. Now, I do realize that this may have something to do with competence and management style... But, I realized that it is possible for employees to work together in an efficient manner when employees are held to different, more respectable standards.
