I have some social anxiety and low self esteem issues.

I've bought your Book. I think it's very interesting.

I tried it out but found it extremely difficult to find the right seed image.

I did a few sessions and found many unpleasant memories, some I had forgotten, but can't say that I found one specific seed image that's at the core of my problem.

I can't work on forty seed images, right?

How long (how many minutes) in general does one has to do the seed image exercises before he "lands" on the seed images.

Also, could it be that if you recall a recent situation in which the script arised, the feelings may include sadness. So the exercise may actually make you recall previous situations in which you felt sad, and not necessarily the feelings of the core problem. ( I hope you understand this formulation)
