Suit and Tie
I agree with the sentiment; I personally think that trying to be cool can be both, stressful, and expensive since what's cool today may not be cool tomorrow.
I don't necessarily agree that those who wear suits and ties are cool though. It's true that they're conforming to a standard that represents a lack of freedom, but I'm not sure people do so to be "cool". I would think people wear suits and ties primarily because of corporate culture.
Although it's interesting it was brought up because I've wondered for a long time why the suit and tie still remain representative of a "professional" appearance, aside from the fact that it's been a deeply ingrained aspect of professional life for years.
