While I enjoyed this article ( as one of the untreated mentally ill, it is a subject that is important to me ) I thought I'd point out that the population of the US is about 300 million ( slightly over ). If your figures are correct 45 million out of 300 million is 15%, not 1 in 5 ( which is 20 %).

While it's true that you said "approximately", 1 in 5 would be 60 million. 5% is a statistically significant difference as is 15 million. This makes for some pretty shady rounding in my book.
