Wrapping It Up: The Psychology of Twitter

Wrapping up this three part series on the Psychology of Twitter, I share the results of my survey on twitter usage. Read More

Fortune Cookie Communication

I am impressed with your sensitivity in somehow deliberating on the value of tweeting and seeing beauty in it. I have turned all my thalamic neurons on and have come up dry in finding even value. Instead of equating tweeting with the beautiful sounds of birds, I prefer to coin it "fortune cookie" communication: offers entertainment but leaves you wondering what value had the note.

To Goals & Resolutions

You know, seeing the beauty in things takes a lot of practice! The Buddha once said, "If we could see the miracle of a single flower clearly, our whole life would change."

Anyway, thanks for stopping by!

Higher Meaning

NOW, I have the motivation to learn how to tweet : )

That is a beautiful idea: using this vehicle for positive social media. Lead on!!

To Hans & Karen

Hans, a beautiful taoist post!

Karen, your comment is a beautiful tweet in this forest of human thought.

Omigosh, I've become a bliss ninny!

Wow

This article is really insightful. You know, I don't use Tweeter as my microblogging site. I did use Tweeter before but right now, I prefer using Plurk. Plurk and Twitter are almost the same and what I really love when using Tweeter or Plurk is the aspect of therapeutic healing you feel everytime you share something for the world to see.

No doubt about it, if you think creatively-- Tweeter and Plurk improve the quality of your life. These sites can boost your self-image, enhances your social skills, and of course, help you earn money.

Plurk huh?

Okay, I'll go give it a try. Good to learn something new every day...

Twitter vs. Facebook

I have a twitter account, but I barely use it, while I am an active Facebook user. When I first learned about Twitter, I thought that it was a Facebook rip-off, as Facebook had the status update option long before Twitter appeared. I've been loyal to Facebook for 4 or 5 years now and I've been very satisfied by it, so one of the reasons why I haven't been using other social networking web-sites like MySpace or Twitter, is because I don't want Facebook to be overshadowed and for other web-sites to become more popular than it. So I would love to read an article about a comparison between Twitter and Facebook from a psychological point of view and I wonder if there are other people like me, who don't use other social networking media out of loyalty to a single networking web-site.

Nice article though.
