Interesting study. Nature has a way of calming one's nerves, thus, improving one's mood. On your way to work, you can pass by the nearest park to soothe your nerves. Or if you have your own ride, what you can do is to park far away from your office. Then you can walk to your building while enjoying the view.

It is two miles, and that seems to be just enough to get me ready for the day, and again just enough to cheer me up after work.

It's amazing what a difference it makes to my mood.

5 minutes may be better than

5 minutes may be better than no exercise but without at least 20 minutes of hard interval training, with weights, I don't feel as good or sleep as well. For those aspiring to achieve optimal health, 5 minutes just doesn't cut it.

However I do agree that running oneself ragged on a tread mill for an hour is counter-productive. Let's not create a false dichotomy between over-kill and insufficiency.
