Embracing time so you have more of it

What is time abundance?

Have you ever noticed how we talk about time? We often address it like a fierce competitor we have to beat to the finish line. We crunch it, beat it, and race against it. But I wonder what would happen if we were to treat time as a partner, as a friend, as the Siamese twin it was meant to be? In my book, time equals existence, not money as Benjamin Franklin was apt to say. Read More

getting there on time

I had so much to do, and decided to drop one thing to get where I needed to be on time, and what time was it when I pulled into the driveway, exactly on time, 4 pm. Mindful living..you are right!

knowing when your plate is full

Congratulations on recognizing what you needed to get to where you were going on time. I will be discussing knowing when your plate is full soon. Thanks for your contribution!

turning my enemy into my friend

Trust is the issue here, trust in so many things...however, stepping out and testing this is definitely doable for me if experimented with on a small scale. I will do this today, on my sabbath, which I have allowed to become full of obligations instead of rest.

I am looking forward to future articles on time abundance as well. I am reading (and loving) your book and am at the part about integrity and keeping my word to myself. I realize that I teach people that even though I prefer certain hours to be mine to work, I will interrupt myself and assist them if they are important to me. My days fill up with other people's priorities. Every day. I fight time. So for today's Sabbath I will experiment with things happening when they need to. With breathing. With moving through the day doing what I can do, for today. With viewing time as my friend who offers possibilities. And with planning that future Sabbath's will be different.

Trust in Time, Trust in Yourself

What a most beautiful comment, Olivia. Indeed, your relationship with time is based on trust in it, and in yourself. Breathe the slow this Sabbath and see how different it feels.

It feels great

I started this last year. If I catch myself multi-tasking too much, I simply stop. I spend a few minutes at the beginning of the week to review my schedule. I keep in mind what might have happened the previous week to make me "too busy".

This has been a lifesaver for me (and my husband). I am less grouchy, I think a bit more clearly, and have become "uber" dependable.

Now, if the rest of society would embrace..lol
