LIFE IS SHORT

Being your best toward people shouldn't be seasonal

This post is in response to
The Intricacy of a Woman

How many times have you heard or made that statement? This is one of those phrases that tend to stop people dead in their tracks. Why? It is something that resonates with everyone to some degree. Life has taught me there are three manifestations of this phrase and I call them air, skin and blood. An example of LIFE IS SHORT on the AIR level would be the caution someone would exercise by deciding to only get two drinks instead of three or four before heading home while driving the speed limit. For others it can be interpreted to mean letting someone go ahead of you in the check out line in the super market or smiling at someone who smiles at you. These expressions of CARE or KINDNESS for the most part, are seasonal in that everyone feels a conditional motive to be that way. (These folks only shine during the holidays or special occasions)

LIFE IS SHORT on the SKIN level becomes more real and less seasonal because it touches you and you feel it more often. It tends to follow you wherever you go. This example expresses itself in a case of someone who sees a need and feels that same need to react. There is a connectivity to humanity that reacts to emotional outcry, setting things and people straight when we see them going down the wrong path. SKIN folks are consistently all around us like guardian angels that get their assignment the moment they are needed. (These folks react to a need)

I know this is not what you were expecting to read when you saw this title. God is good that way. LIFE IS SHORT in the BLOOD level folks is a bit more intimate just by the prepositional word "IN". BLOOD level folks are driven by the phrase LIFE IS SHORT every moment of the day because it LIVES in them. These folks wake up with the intention to not only walk the steps that are ordered by God (Psalm 37:23-26) they desperately seek ways to be a blessing to God and His people at all times (Psalm 34). These folks are driven to find the Godly good in everyone and every situation even when it's not politically correct to do so. (These folks drive humanity's passion)

Mark Twain and William Purkey are credited with the quote "Dance like no one is watching, love like you'll never be hurt, sing like no one is listening, and live like it's heaven on earth". I just started living this at 40.

Whether you believe Life is Short in the Air, on your Skin or in your Blood just remember: when you say good bye to that loved one, hug them just a moment longer, stare into their eyes just a little deeper and say I love you with a bit more meaning. At work when you get up from your computer greet the next person you see as though you're seeing for the first time. Your greeting may be the last expression of love they get in this life. Impress Jesus and call someone who has hurt you and say that you're better now, just because... Give someone the extra five minutes that we wish we had when they're no longer around because LIFE IS SHORT.
