As the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM 5) is being planned, the subject of sexual addiction in adults as a disease entity is being considered.
I have been an opponent of such a move. What do you think?
Is there such an addiction as "sex addiction"? Or is it simply a new name for the old evolutionary concept - (Self-seeding)?
If so, how do you define it?
Is it a primarily male condition?
Is it another manifestation for sociopathic behavior?
Or is it an obsessive compulsive disorder targeting the sexual organs?
Is it problematic only in a marital context?
Does the labeling serve any redemptive (or pseudo-redemptive) purpose?
