Such is the case with Limbaugh. His broadcast droppings are redolent spoors good hunters pick up on, track down and finally hang on their own broadcast walls, trophies of "the good hunt." Read More

Limbaugh couldn't get in
Limbaugh couldn't get in because the NFL is a partnership. Like any partnership, the NFL owners get to pick who they want to hang out with. Rush brings way too much baggage.
Close-mindedness
Ahhh...so I see. repeat quotes from a secondary source that does not like Republicans and Conservatives anyway.
Let me make one suggestion: How about going to the actual ORIGINAL source and listen?
How about understanding the ideology of someone you do not understand?
Or do you regularly publish on HuffPo and Kos too?
Here is something to open your mind, respomd to this tale:

1300 words in the original post
and no reference to actual data (statements by Limbaugh about race). Unlike this commenter and other critics of this post, I am a card-carrying liberal who detests Limbaugh. But this performance by a media psychology editor and professor is more notable as a case study in double-talk and prevarication than for its title topic.
You are so said in your
You are so said in your commentary that your PhD must be from Cracker Jack University.
The author of the article has a PhD?
I find it difficult to believe that the author of this article has a PhD earned from any recognized institution of higher learning. One of the first things students at any level learn is to check and validate sources. The my bad comment just doesn't cover what this person has said. It is all too easy to make up quotes and this is what this person has done.
making it up
Let me get this straight. Not a clue where your nutbar quote is from:
"Proof? " I don't need any more proof than I have. If Rush or Glenn or Sean say it, that's evidence enough. They can be trusted. I believe them!"
BUT this guy is actually paid by CBS.
http://www.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/6264363/17690659
"post your comments about how people have made up quotes or taken them out of context.... I believe almost any quote attributed to Limbaugh when it comes to race because he's said any number of ugly and hateful things. Just my opinion and belief"
Unsourced quotes. Check.
Acknowledges claims that quotes are unsourced. Check
Thinks he can continue 'cuz it's only an opinion that they are true. Check.
CBS really doesn't have a lot of choices do they?
No problem with the NFL not welcoming anyone into their private club. Haters faking Hate. Got a problem.
So Sad
What a sad littlle sociopath you are. How long did it take you to build this little fantasy world you live in and try to justify through this childish drivel?
Well, atleast I can say thank you for proving once again that you can't be a Liberal/Socialist/Marxist/Fascist/Proregressive, without being an accepted "Bigot for the Cause".
May you get everything you wish for.
A socialist AND a Fascist? He must be good!
I wonder how he reconciles that without exploding.
the problem with this article
Is that it broaches a topic no republican can grasp, accountability. They won't accept the blame for the idiot they put in control, or the destruction left in his wake. "So what?" is the answer they provide, but true understanding takes independent thinking, something no good "ditto head" could ever do. Lock step over the cliff like lemmings, sure hope we never allow them near power again, they might take all of us with them next time. Isn't sad that democrats always have to be the adults, because republicans can never put away childish things, like greed, xenophobia, hatered, fanaticism...you know, all our worst angels. All one need do is watch Rush's face as he plays that clip of "Rodney Kings" car going over a cliff, over and over, case closed...next?
:X ...Xl... @[
lemming ^ Of the Democrate socialist cliff walker Union!
I wanna see one of those democrate lemmings in action.
Does it bother you that the lemming film we are all familiar with was staged by Disney producers? The truth of the lemming is actually a fiction. Sounds about right for The Right.
Ignorance is bliss
I don't understand everyone's obsession with other people affairs. It's a sports team! What's the worst that can happen from Rush that already hasn't. The NFL reserves the right to deny anyone and I think that's fine. IT'S A SPORTS TEAM!!!!!!!! What I don't get is why people and media on both sides give a damn what Rush does with his money. Why didn't people care when he bought millions in stock during the recession!? Hey! Everyone! I just bought stock in Sirius XM! Wait for it, wait for it!!!! sssshhhhhhh, listen......there's nothing there. Why don't people care what I do with my money!? Oh yea, That's right! Cause it makes no difference. Get it? I can still type on this website and still make my own blog site. I can call into radio shows and e-mail Hannity or Huffington. My point is that people are hating against a man they don't like because they don't like him. Rush is still going to be on the air and making millions from it. There was no victory here for the left, he'll just buy more stock or another team. LET HE WHO IS WITHOUT SIN, CAST THE FIRST STONE! Hypocrits......and the story continues. IT'S A SPORTS TEAM AND ONLY JEALOUS, ANGRY AND HATING PEOPLE ARE THE ONES HAPPY WITH HIM NOT GETTING CHOSEN!!!!! Look inside yourself and see who the real hater is.
This Stuart Fischoff has to be joking
Stuart Fischoff Needs to pull his Head out of his ASS period
Re: Rush Limbaugh
You quote in your article, "To be totally truthful, though, it's not all that easy to get properly referenced or vetted quotes of Rush. He is not a columnist; he talks rather that writes." Not true!Everything Rush has ever said are in transcripts and tapes of his radio program and are readily available.
Dis Ease
Mr. Fischoff, I think my opinion lands somewhere near yourn on the Limbaugh, I've tried to sift through some of his shows, tried to listen to his ramblings and rants, tried to figure out exactly what it is about his point-of-view which I find disagreeable; however, I tend to find his views so utterly opposite to my own on simple philosophical and intellectual basis and his opinions are so fully contrary to the notions of cleverness, common sense, and civility that when I listen to him, I find myself pitying him like one might pity a mange-wrecked dog which both snarls at you yet begs help. He is so completely misguided that I simply feel sorry for him; I find I can't respect him, nor see any hope that he'll ever figure it out. It's such an all-encompasing aura of wrongness on so many levels, that one quote, narry a thousand quotes would not suffice, Rush Limbaugh is his own proof of how wretchedly backward he is, he is the evidence of his own disease, and sadly, those who cannot see this fact, tend to bear the same affliction.
Beautiful prose....
Misguided ideology. Your condescending attitude, your haughty pseudo intellectual rambling does little to hide your hatred and jealousy of Rush’s success. That someone who has the audacity to believe that hard work, self reliance and suspicion of government solutions could be this successful drives you crazy. Your prose is nothing more than an attempt at schoolyard bullying to make yourself feel better. Such absolute pronouncements as “all-encompasing aura of wrongness on so many levels” doesn’t make you sound better just narrow minded. I invite you to leave the ideology of hate and lies of the left and join the open minded and tolerant ideology of the right.
perception, perception, perception
Trouble with Rush's supporters is that what they see and hear, they like. Pity is a rather inactive, benign reaction to his possibly dangerous rants and attacks and it seems, at times, that the troops are called out to enact a show of force and demean the messenger rather than deal with the messages.
As you can tell from the replies of his supporters, there is little tolerance for alternative points of view or criticism of their personal royalty RL, his body and his blood.
But "understanding and "feeling pity" for Rush doesn't address the issue that he does in fact have considerable influence on his supporters and some may be moved to go beyond words into dangerous deeds. After all, he can cow GOP elected representatives into gestures of apology and submission if he finds their comments about him objectionable and mentions it on his show. These become marching orders and inevitabley a flood of letters, blogs and threats are both forthcoming and astounding.
If you're interested you can go here: http://www.alternet.org/media/129862/top_republican's_groveling_apology_to_rush_limbaugh_is_a_media_disaster/
to see what happened to RNC Chairman Mike Steele when he made the mistake of disagreeing with Rush and the media's annointing Rush the de facto RNC title and the head of the GOP. It wasn't pretty.
The article also reports when "Republican Representative Phil Gingrey of Georgia attacked Limbaugh for 'throwing bricks' without paying the consequences. As I reported for the Daily Beast, Gingrey invited himself on Limbaugh's radio show the following day to grovel before the host. 'I clearly ended up putting my foot in my mouth on some of those comments,' the penitent congressman said."
Gingrey added, "...I want to express to you and all your listeners my very sincere regret for those comments I made yesterday… I regret those stupid comments."
Heady stuff, no? So, really, I don't pity Rush Limbaugh or his supporters. Rather, he and they lead me to worry; lead me to want to speak out. If I have any pity for something on our polarized, political landscape it is for us and our nation.
Sounds about right.
The turks video concerning the Iowa comments is especially telling.
Rush
Rush and Glenn have more integrity in their little finger than you will ever have sir. Intellectual idiots is what I call people like you. Educated by a system that is dumbing down America to the point of not seeing with your eyes or hearing with your ears. Darwin was and still is wrong. Open your mind to the possibility that God exists and the intelligence of Man is foolishness to him. Especially Socialpsyche cases that hide behind their degrees and quote people out of context. I will pray for you, sir.
Praise Jesus, I hate you?
Who's the idiot? Who's been "dumbed down"? You are embarassing yourself and your religion. It's time to stop, for those christians who actually practice what YOU preach.
His critics don't bother to listen
Most of Limbaugh's critics don't bother to listen to him. They get their information from other Limbaugh critics. Anyone who listens to Limbaugh on a regular basis knows that he is not a racist. If he were to utter even one racist remark his call screener (Bo Sneerdly) would instantly quit. In addition, one of his most popular substitute hosts, economist Walter Williams, would refuse to do the show again. The "Barack the Magic Negro" song is a perfect example of the critics not even bothering to listen to what he is saying. With a small amount of research they could find out. But they are too busy defending their collectivist vision...or as author Thomas Sowell (who also happens to be black) puts it..."The Vision of the Anoited".
Rush
Rush, on his radio show has talked for over 20 years has talked for 3 hours a day. 5 Days a week ,3 hours a day for twenty years. Every word is on transcripts. Not on Tv, not on radio, not in print have I ever seen a quote from Rush that was Racist. Please, Stuart when you call someone a Racist could you quote something they said.
It's true Racism exist in America.....an conserative talk show host can not own an NFL team in America. Rev Sharpton ....would you like to hear some of his quotes are see him in a undercover tape by the FBI trying to do drug deal. The left is a joke.
Rush
I can clearly see what is wrong with America today, when the jealousy of a few, with the ability to get it in print, admit it was a lie, that was printed and some of our fellow Americans dismiss this as buisness as usual,I am a reg DEMOCRAT not a socialist Dem ,but the way the Media trys to do things makes all of us look like egg heads, which is worst ditto heads or eggheads,Wake up Americans Let who ever wants to invest in American Product,do so as long as they are Americans,Look at the farm land along foreigners have purschased yet nothing is said by the forgein press we have such as we have in the U.S. that claims to be American have a good day
Discrimination against Rush
Rush is considered a racist? What a joke. I heard somebody take his McNabb comment and say that was racist. How do you figure? Think about what all industries have been trying to do for the past 30+ years.....putting blacks in management and leadership positions. I don't have any problems with that. What I have a problem with is putting someone in a position just because of their race. Tell me, how many black quarterbacks in the past 30 years can you name that have been very successful? Maybe 3 if your lucky. why?
Becasue they're not trained for that position. McNabb? Culpepper? Vince Young? Michael Vick? JaMarcus Russell? And any others you can think of? Wait until Terrell Pryor from Ohio State joins the NFL. The kid has nobody to teach him the intricacy of that position just like all the other black qb's. His height and speed is not what quarterbacks need, they need the intelligence of the game and that's not taught because he and all the others like him are not going to be used that way.
Rush was correct with his statement about McNabb being put there in hopes of success because that's exactly what the NFL is doing. How many will succeed at the rate their going. None!
Now the NFL is throwing Rush under the bus just to cover their own behinds from legal issues from Sharpton and Jackson, the two people that are the biggest detriment to the black society.
A few VERIFIABLE racist quotes from Rush
-Right. So you go into Darfur and you go into South Africa, you get rid of the white government there. You put sanctions on them. You stand behind Nelson Mandela — who was bankrolled by communists for a time, had the support of certain communist leaders. You go to Ethiopia. You do the same thing.
-Look, let me put it to you this way: the NFL all too often looks like a game between the Bloods and the Crips without any weapons. There, I said it.
-They’re 12 percent of the population. Who the hell cares?
-Take that bone out of your nose and call me back(to an African American female caller).
-I think the media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well. They’re interested in black coaches and black quarterbacks doing well. I think there’s a little hope invested in McNabb and he got a lot of credit for the performance of his team that he really didn’t deserve.
Have you ever even listened to Rush?
Typical attempt at portraying Rush as a racist by using out of context quotes. This is the best you have? The man has been on the radio over 20 years and this is all you can come up with? He has been painted as a terrible racist and you must use snippets that are out of context to prove it?
If Rush were truely a racist you should have 20 years worth of easily verifiable quotes. Instead.....you post weak, out of context snippets.
The irrational hate of the left is an amazing thing to watch.
How is a racist quote out of context, if it is racist in nature?
It doesn't matter what context you put the crips and bloods quote in. It's still a racist thing to say. His longevity on air has nothing to do with racism. Jeffrey Dahmer committed his first murder when he was 18. He committed 17 more between 1987 and 1991 WITHOUT ANYONE KNOWING ABOUT IT. Rush is just a little less careful than Jeffrey. And he seems a lot less normal. You misunderstand me sir/madam. I do not hate Rush. I am presenting facts, that regardless of context (he could have said bama is the true messiah after this and it still would have been a racist thing to say), but Rush DOES hate me, because I am a liberal. He says so every day on his program. Those on the left who say it about the right are just as bad. Please, understand that YOU are the one who leaped to hate filled rhetoric. It's time to stop defending the indefensible.
rush owning the rams
let the blacks and leftist' support the nfl, nba.and see how it goes.
Thank you for making the good Doctor's point for him.
I'm sure he appreciates it, goofball.
Permanent brain damage
Both Beck and Limbaugh are addicts. Research has shown that addicts have neural, and sometimes permanent, changes in the brain. Could this be the case with Beck and Limbaugh? If changes in behavior is an indicator one would have to think it could be true. Heightened emotional levels is a symptom and they fit that. Abnormal mental processing is another symptom. Addicts are known to become obsessives. Both have illusions of grandeur.
