I guess we expect people like him to be immortal. Or invincible or something. I mean, obviously no one is immune to death but if anyone was going to somehow beat the odds..

I keep wondering, with all his money and the resources and connections to top professionals, if he ever sought mental help. I'm not a professional but it seems to me that his behavior was indicative of a desperate need for help that he apparently never received.
therapy for Michael Jackson
Those bits of information are generally not disclosed to the public, although he was seen by psychiatrists during his legal battles and the accusations concerning child molestation.
More generally as regards Michael, if he received treatment -- drugs, psychotherapy, etc., from what one can observe over the years, they weren't obviously very effective and at various times things got much worse, across all dimensions of his various pathologies.
Toxicological exams during the autopsy will tell whether his heart attack was connected to drug use, prescriptive or otherwise.
In sum, he may have received treatment for his pain and suffering but that's not public knowledge. He was intending to do another concert tour so, at least in that arena, he was able to focus. But life was not kind to him. One can only hope death is.
