How Television Can Affect Your Experience of a Stroke

I celebrated my birthday with a stroke.

She places it on the bed and we both stare at it. I glance at the front page then put it down and glance up at Rachel who is studying my face. She smiles and nods. I pick up the paper again and...I read! I READ. I read one paragraph then another paragraph and, when I look up, Rachel is backing out of the room, smiling... at no one in particular.

I'm back... at least some of me is. An essential "some of me" because the truth is, I read therefore I am.

As for Dr. Gregory House, au revoir, Doc.  Some scripts are just different.
