chocolate won't melt
I'm on week 2 of the diet, and I've found that with the desserts that call for melting chocolate, that dark chocolate won't melt in the microwave. I've had to add a little milk to make it work. Any suggestions?

I tried it and it melted but it took longer. Perhaps different kinds of chocolate melt at different rates, and microwaves have different amounts of power.
wheat berries
It has been so much fun reading, "Instinct Diet" I have been trying out wheat berry recipes, is the quantity listed in the recipe the measured cooked wheat berries? Conversely, how many dry wheat berries would yield say 1 cup cooked?
Also, the idea of tapping one's forehead to ward off hunger is great. In a future article would it be possible to have a diagram or photos of exactly where on the forehead and the hand position.

Glad you are enjoying the program!
The recipes use cooked wheatberries. A half-cup of raw wheatberries will make 1 cup cooked or a bit more.
And thanks for your request for a finger-tapping diagram, I'll plan to work that into a future blog.

Spanish language version of your books
I work in a community health clinic in Seattle and give anticipatory guidance to many Spanish speaking parents. I don't yet speak Spanish, but use our in-house medical interpreter. I would love to give them a recommendation to get your books in Spanish. Are they available? If not, do you know of some you would recommend?
chocolate and cereal
How funny, I eat high fiber cereal with chocolate soy milk for breakfast a few times per week. I don't think it would work for me as dessert, but it's the only way I can get down that cereal.
I've lost 41 lbs. in 2 months.
I just read your two blogs and I must say I loved what you had to say. I don't know what the Instinct diet is but everything you said I do in some sort of fashion and I learnt some extra stuff too. I had a dream on Dec. 30th that told me to count my calories. On Jan. 1st I weighed 355. I eat two thousand calories a day and now weigh 314. I work out, take vitamins, eat very healthy food and blog through stream of consciousness. If I said anything intelligent it was That god said to me I can eat what I want and he will take away the pain, but if I take responsibility for what I eat he will heal me. My cholestrol is now perfect and my thyroid is better than it's been in twenty plus years. My major dissapointment with your blog is that there was no where to sign up to get notices that you've placed a new blog. I'm very hesitant to follow any one diet - I am on a life journey that I've created out of this dream, but I really enjoyed what you wrote and hope to read more, sincerely Allan K. Calabasas CA>
instinct diet
Are you conscious with your figure? You might want to try out the Instinct Diet. We don't necessarily mean hunt down deer with your bare hands and go crazy, but the Instinct Diet is more of a psychological approach as much as a diet in and of itself. The book does feature recipes and menus, however. The book is the brain child of Dr. Susan Roberts, PhD, who spent 20 years researching the mental framework of eating and diet. She points out that hunger is normal, but because of the change in human society we have unprecedented availability of food. Short term loans would be put to good use getting the Instinct Diet.
Quick Ways To Loose Weight
Unfortunately one can find many quick ways to loose weight myths on the internet. Many people wrongly attribute crash dieting as a quick way to loose weight. Crash dieting might work in the short term but it is not the solution to long term weight loss. When you crash diet your body’s metabolic rate (the rate at which your body burns fat) decreases and when this happens it is very difficult to lose weight (even though you eat hardly anything at all).
The best quick way to loose weight is not to “not eat”, but to eat several times a day (usually every 3 to 4 hours). This is not a joke! When you eat regularly you keep you body’s metabolism active and working fast which means that your body burns fat at a faster rate than normal. Obviously this does not mean that you can eat hamburgers and ice cream every 3 to 4 hours. The diet should be a healthy and varied diet, which means a low fat, low calorie, low sugar diet. And yes, your body needs carbohydrates as well in order to function properly.
Drinking lots of water is also very important if you want to loose weight. When the body burns fat it produces toxins which need to be expelled from the body and this is usually done by the kidneys. The thing is that the kidneys need a lot of water in order to function properly so water deprived kidneys might lead to slow and inefficient weight loss.
